Nurse Support Technician Certification Training
The NST is designed for nursing assistant who wish to work in hospitals supporting and assisting the nurses and are a part of a multi-disciplinary technical worker trained to provide basic nursing assistant care as well as other skilled function. The role of the NST includes duties traditionally performed by the staff from several different departments such as nursing, phlebotomy, EKG and respiratory. This Program builds upon the basic nurse aid skills to create a person with advanced skills. This is the latest trend in health care re-engineering.

- Copy of State Issued Photo ID & Social Security Card
- CNA Certification
- Evidence of current CPR Certification (Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers)
- Payment of the 1st Installment of required fees
- Proof of current, negative TB skin test or negative Chest X-Ray (Must be no more than 6 months old)
- Physical exam from a physician-stating student is physically able. (Must be no more than 6 months old)
- Proof of Hepatitis B Vaccine or Signed waiver
- Proof of personal health insurance coverage or sign a waiver form
- Proof of Full COVID-19 Vaccination
Note: If you already have the shots/immunizations mentioned here, including your CPR & First Aid Card just bring copies of your records.
Payment is due in full on or before the first day of class. However, installment payments are available to students.
One time Payment –in – Full for tuition & lab fee only = $1650 (excluding books & uniforms)
1st payment $650 Due on or before the first day of class.
2nd Payment $500 Due on or before the Friday of the second week.
3rd Payment $250 Due on or before the Friday of the second week
Final Payment $250 Due on or before the Friday of the third week.
Note: Students who do not complete their tuition (a) Will not be allowed to take the final exam (b) Will not graduate (c) Will not be given any letter of reference.

Payment Receipts: Students are entitled to and must request a receipt for all payments made to GHC. No refunds will be made without a receipt.
Refunds: No cash refunds. All refunds will be made by CHECK, not withstanding the form of payment used. All refunds will be based on the School Refund Policy.
NATIONAL HEALTH CAREER ASSOCIATION (NHA) CERTIFICATION
At the completion of the Nurse Support Technician program, each student will be eligible to challenge the National certification exams in Patient Care Technician, or Phlebotomy Technician. If you desire to be Nationally Certified as a Phlebotomy Technician or Patient Care Technician, you will have to achieve a passing score of 70% or better on the certification exam and prove competency drawing blood. The NHA Certification will be administered in house by a NHA approved Proctor upon completion of the program.
Certification Exam: Once students complete the requirements of the NST program, they’re eligible to sit for the National Certified Examination with the National Health Career Association to be certified as a:
- Certified Patient Care Technician (CPCT) Certification; ($117)
- Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) Certification ($117)
- Certified EKG Technician Certification(CEKGT) ($117)
What is The National Health career Association?
The National Healthcareer Association is a national certification and continuing education provider for healthcare workers in the United States. Certification exams are available for eight different fields: phlebotomy technician (CPT), EKG Technician (CET), and patient care technician (CPCT). To qualify for an NHA exam a prospective candidate must have a high school diploma or its equivalent. Successful completion of a training program or relevant work experience is also necessary. Specific eligibility guidelines can be found on the NHA website at www.nhanow.com.
National Healthcareer Association exams are administered at NHA-affiliated schools and through PSI testing centers. All NHA exams are multiple-choice, computer-based tests. Paper/pencil testing is available at authorized locations that do not support computer-based testing. The number of questions on an exam varies from 100 – 150 scored items in addition to 10 to 20 pretest items that do not count toward the candidate’s score. The time allotted also ranges from 110 minutes to 3 hours. The minimum passing score on all exams is a scaled score of 390. Results are posted to the candidate’s account page within 2 days of testing. Written exam results are posted within 2 weeks.

Classroom Instruction:
Monday – Thursday | 6 Weeks (120 hours)
Morning Session; 24 hrs of classroom theory required each week
- Theory & Skills hours Monday through Thursday
- Class Schedule: 8:00 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. (6 hours per day with ½ hour for break)
- Instructional hours per day: 6 hours for 4 days = 24 hour for 6 weeks
Evening Session; 24 hrs of classroom theory required each week
- Theory & Skills hours Monday through Thursday
- Class Schedule: 5:00 p.m. -9:30 p.m.
- Instructional hours per day: 6 hours for 4 days = 24 hour for 6 weeks = 120 clock hours
Weekend Session:
- Theory & Skills hours Saturday &Sunday
- Class Schedule: 9:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
- Instructional hours per week: 16 hours for 7.5 weekends = 120 Clock hours
Graduation Requirements
Complete all 120 clock hours for theory/skills lab at a minimum 90% attendance rate, not missing and making up more than 16 clock hours of absence and,
- The MINIMUM passing score for the theory portion is at least 80%.
- Theory: Achieve at least a Cumulative 80% average on all assignments, quizzes, and exams.
- Successfully complete 10 live EKGs throughout the course
- Perform 5 Un-aided and successful Intravenous (I.V) Insertions &
- Perform 5 Un-aided and successful Interpretation of EKG
- Perform 30 Un-aided and successful venipuncture and 10 capillary sticks
- Satisfy all financial obligations to the school.
*Upon a satisfactory completion of the program, the students will be awarded a certificate of completion from the school
Note: GANDHI HEALTH CARE will only award certificate of completion when all of the above criteria are fulfilled.
